Understanding skin irritation according to TCM

Skin that becomes irritated, itches or reacts is not simply "sensitive" skin — it is skin whose mineral content has become depleted. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this imbalance is linked to the Metal Element — energy no. 4, which governs the Lungs and the Large Intestine. In autumn, these organs are very active, allowing the body to take in minerals through breathing and food. When this process is insufficient, the skin and hair become depleted of minerals — which shows as irritation, itching and increasing dryness.

The essential oils in Amplitude N°4 have been selected for their calming properties on the skin. They support the balance of the Elements according to TCM.

Its uses

Itching & skin irritation Applied neat to the area concerned, Amplitude N°4 helps soothe skin irritation — dry skin, irritation after colouring or a perm, itchy scalp.

Tense areas Applied by massage to tense areas of the body, the synergy helps relax contracted tissue.

A moment of relaxation A few drops applied under the nose or on the lips help calm nervousness and promote relaxation — an olfactory use that complements application to the skin.

Customising Géomer products Add a few drops to your made-to-measure adaptable Géomer product to turn it into a treatment specific to irritated skin. This is the exclusive principle of Laboratoire Géomer.


Key ingredients

Lavender + Rosemary + Geranium

Lavender is the phytotherapy benchmark for calming skin irritation and itching. Rosemary tones mineral-depleted tissue. Geranium contributes to skin balance and is associated in TCM with the Lung and Large Intestine meridians (Metal Element).

Petitgrain + Tarragon

Petitgrain has a de-stressing, relaxing action on tense areas — particularly appreciated in massage on tense areas. Tarragon completes the relaxing action of the synergy.

Ylang-Ylang + Lemon

Ylang-ylang reinforces the overall soothing action and contributes to psycho-cutaneous relaxation. Lemon unifies the synergy and brings a bright note that offsets the heaviness sometimes felt with very demineralised skin.

Yes — it is one of its most popular uses in salons. Applied to the scalp before or after colouring or a perm, it helps limit skin reactions and calm residual irritation. Always carry out a preliminary skin test if your skin is very reactive.

Amplitude N°4 can be added to all Géomer products marked "made-to-measure adaptable" — Terrals, adaptable shampoos, body care. It does not mix with non-adaptable finished products.
