Dehydrated skin lacks water, whereas dry skin lacks lipids. After a hot summer, sun, sea, chlorine and sweating leave it dull and uncomfortable. For Traditional Chinese Medicine, minerals are what allow the skin to retain water.

Lungs, large intestine and dry skin — what TCM says

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, dry skin is associated with an imbalance of the Metal Element — the Element of Autumn, which governs the lungs and the large intestine. When this Element is deficient, the skin loses its ability to retain water and essential minerals. It dehydrates, becomes irritated and ages prematurely. Organic Silicon MMST plays a central role here: bioavailable, it helps preserve the skin's suppleness.

Dry and dehydrated skin: how to recognise the signs

  • A feeling of tightness, especially after washing.
  • A dull complexion, sometimes with small flakes.
  • More visible dehydration lines.
  • Skin that reacts to cold and wind.

Why a rich cream alone is not enough

A rich cream brings comfort on the surface, but dry skin also lacks the minerals it needs to hold on to water. In TCM, dryness reflects a deficient Metal Element, linked to the lungs and the skin, which is especially sensitive in autumn. As long as the skin remains demineralised, the moisture it receives evaporates quickly. The Géomer protocol therefore starts by remineralising with Terral Blanc, then nourishes with Émulsion Phyto Douce or Ultra L Cream.

Terral Blanc

What makes the Géomer approach different

Remineralise first, nourish second: Terral Blanc used as a tapering routine prepares the skin to better hold on to the moisture provided by the creams.

The Organic Silicon reflex — In addition to your care routine.

Why wetting the skin is not enough

The skin is not a sponge: it does not absorb water placed on its surface. It needs minerals to hold water, and water drunk slowly, which hydrates it from within.
