Mixed hair loss in women combines oily roots, which get greasy a few days after washing, with dry, fine and brittle lengths. The hair loss is present all year and gets worse in spring and autumn. Traditional Chinese Medicine sees in it an excess linked to the Wood Element, which governs sebum, and a lack in the Metal Element, which nourishes hair quality.

Mixed hair loss in women: how to recognise the signs
- Shiny roots and a heavy scalp a few days after washing.
- Very dry lengths and ends that break.
- An acrid smell from the scalp between washes.
- Hair loss all year round, stronger in spring and autumn.
- Hair that gets finer and finer, like a baby's, and a widening parting.
Why caring for roots and lengths separately is not enough
A shampoo for oily hair dries the lengths; a nourishing product weighs down the roots. With mixed hair loss, TCM suggests regulating sebum on the Wood Element side and remineralising on the Metal Element side, at the same time. The Géomer protocol gives each area the right step and alternates the evening products.
What makes the Géomer approach different
Care in two zones, as in a hair centre: the scalp is purified and remineralised, the lengths are nourished, with products developed with the ARK Quantique Process®.
What Géomer recommends
1

Massage with your palms
Massage the scalp with the palms of your hands, moving it over the skull, to activate circulation and relax. Avoid rubbing with your fingertips, which encourages sebum.
2
Purify the scalp with Terral Vert
Using a brush, apply a layer of about 1 mm of Terral Vert (Wood Element) to the scalp only. Leave on for 20 minutes without letting it dry, then rinse with lukewarm water.
3
Nourish the lengths while the mask works
While the Terral is on, apply a little Plurielle Oil to the dry lengths and ends, without touching the roots. It is then rinsed off with the mask, before shampooing.
4

Wash with Energising Shampoo
On a towel-dried scalp, apply a small amount of Energising Shampoo, spread it over the scalp and leave on for 7 minutes. Wet, work into a light lather and rinse thoroughly. Little foam is normal: do not add more product.
5

Detangle without weighing down
Spread a small amount of Hair Balm over the lengths and ends, comb, leave on for 2 minutes and rinse lightly.
6

Alternate the evening products
Every other evening, spread a few drops of Phyto Gel Bio H over the whole scalp; the following evening, a few drops of Oligo F3. Massage in with your fingertips and do not rinse.
7

Revitalise the scalp
Once the hair loss has stabilised, spray Régénorsil onto the scalp, no more than twice a week, before the evening product (order: Régénorsil, Phyto Gel Bio H, Oligo F3). Massage in, do not rinse. Used too early, it can temporarily increase the shedding of hairs at the end of their cycle.

As an optional extra
Silicium Organique Forté, or Silicium Organique Vitalis after 50, can complement this protocol orally, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach: maintenance 25 ml a day; intensive course 3 × 25 ml a day for 30 days. Food supplement for adults only, not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Pregnant or breastfeeding?
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, do not use Terral Vert, Energising Shampoo, Phyto Gel Bio H, Oligo F3, Régénorsil or Silicium Organique. Plurielle Oil and Hair Balm can still be used. After giving birth, follow our protocol dedicated to postpartum hair loss instead.
