Mixed hair loss in men

What Géomer recommends to rebalance the scalp
3 October 2026 by
Laboratoire Géomer

Mixed hair loss in men combines two profiles: an oily, heavy scalp that gets greasy quickly, and hair that lacks minerals, thins and breaks. The hair loss lasts all year and gets worse in spring and autumn. Traditional Chinese Medicine sees in it an excess linked to the Wood Element, Liver and Gallbladder, which governs sebum, together with a lack in the Metal Element.

At a glance

Who is it for

  • An oily, heavy scalp a few days after washing, with shiny roots.
  • Very dry ends that break easily.

Frequency

Use Terral Vert and the shampoo once or twice a week, without washing more often. Alternate Phyto Gel Bio H and Oligo F3 every evening; add Régénorsil no more than twice a week once the hair loss has stabilised.

Mixed hair loss in men: how to recognise the signs

  • An oily, heavy scalp a few days after washing, with shiny roots.
  • Very dry ends that break easily.
  • An acrid smell from the scalp between washes.
  • Hair loss all year round, stronger in spring and autumn.
  • Hair that gets finer and finer, like a baby's, at the temples and on the crown.

Why a shampoo for oily hair is not enough

Washing an oily scalp more often dries the ends even further and does not give back the minerals the roots are missing. With mixed hair loss, you need both to regulate sebum, on the Wood Element side, and to remineralise, on the Metal Element side. The Géomer protocol works on both by alternating the evening products.

Terral Vert

What makes the Géomer approach different

A two-phase protocol, as in a hair centre: regulating sebum and remineralising in alternation, with products developed with the ARK Quantique Process®.

What Géomer recommends

1

Massage with your palms

Massage with your palms

Massage the scalp with the palms of your hands, moving it over the skull, to activate circulation. Avoid rubbing it with your fingertips: this encourages sebum.

2

Purify with Terral Vert

Purify with Terral Vert

Using a brush, apply a layer of about 1 mm of Terral Vert (Wood Element) over the whole scalp, without spreading it onto the lengths. Leave on for 20 minutes without letting it dry, then rinse with lukewarm water. It regulates excess sebum without drying out.

3

Wash with Energising Shampoo

Wash with Energising Shampoo

On a towel-dried scalp, apply a small amount of Energising Shampoo, spread it with your fingertips and leave on for 7 minutes. Wet, work into a light lather and rinse thoroughly, even if there is little foam. In very cold weather, on very fine hair, it can cause static.

4

Nourish the ends only

Nourish the ends only

Spread a small amount of Hair Balm over the lengths and ends, without touching the roots. Comb, leave on for 2 minutes and rinse lightly.

5

Alternate the evening products

Alternate the evening products

Every other evening, spread a few drops of Phyto Gel Bio H over the whole scalp; the following evening, a few drops of Oligo F3. Massage in with your fingertips and do not rinse. Phyto Gel Bio H supports the oily scalp, Oligo F3 brings it minerals.

6

Revitalise the scalp

Revitalise the scalp

Once the hair loss has stabilised, spray Régénorsil onto the scalp, no more than twice a week, before the evening product (order: Régénorsil, Phyto Gel Bio H, Oligo F3). Massage in, do not rinse. Used too early, it can temporarily increase the shedding of hairs at the end of their cycle.

7

As an optional extra

As an optional extra

Frequently asked questions

It is hair loss that combines the signs of two profiles: an oily scalp that gets greasy quickly, and hair that lacks minerals, thins and breaks.

No. Washing too often dries the ends and keeps the imbalance going. A suitable shampoo once or twice a week and Terral Vert to regulate sebum work better.

Because mixed hair loss has two sides. Phyto Gel Bio H supports the oily scalp and established hair loss; Oligo F3 brings iron, copper, zinc and organic silicon to the roots.

Use the palms of your hands and move the scalp, without rubbing with your fingertips. A natural comb or brush, in wood or boar bristle, is also gentle on the hair fibre.

No. If hair loss is sudden or heavy, talk to your doctor or dermatologist. This cosmetic protocol complements their follow-up.
