Imagine a bricklayer stacking brick upon brick, meticulously, for years — without ever using an ounce of cement. At every tremor, the wall sags. Every rain erodes it. And yet he keeps buying ever more expensive, ever more beautiful bricks, wondering why nothing holds. That is exactly what millions of people experience with their food supplements.

Magnesium, zinc, vitamin D, omega-3, marine collagen, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine, MSM… so many precious “bricks”, bought at a high price, month after month. And yet the feeling of fatigue persists. The fasciae remain stiff. The lymph stagnates. The skin loses its tone. Why?

Because the cement is missing. And that cement is organic silicon. Without it, however good the bricks your body receives, it cannot assemble them. This article takes you into the least-known network of the human body — the fasciae-lymph tandem — and explains why silicon is its absolute prerequisite. To go further on organic silicon itself, its history, its science and its dosages, you can consult our complete guide to MMST organic silicon.

Fasciae and lymph: a single tissue, two vital functions

People have been talking a lot about fasciae in recent years — and rightly so. They also talk about lymphatic drainage. But they almost always present them as two separate worlds: on one side orthopaedics and posture, on the other aesthetics and drainage. This is an optical illusion. In the reality of living things, fasciae and lymph are the front and back of one and the same tissue. And this confusion, maintained by compartmentalised medicine, explains why so many people take care of one while forgetting the other — with no lasting result.

The fascia, this living web that connects everything

The fascia is that whitish, elastic, shiny connective tissue that envelops, separates, connects and runs through absolutely all the structures of the body: muscles, organs, bones, vessels, nerves. It is a continuous three-dimensional web, without interruption, from the top of the skull to the soles of the feet. If you could remove everything else — the bones, the muscles, the organs — your perfectly recognisable silhouette would remain, drawn in this living lace.

To understand how this architecture is built and regenerates from the skin, we explored this subject in depth in our article Fasciae: revealing the hidden intelligence of your skin.

Lymph, this invisible river that slips through the fasciae

And lymph, in all this? Lymph is that clear, slightly yellowish liquid that collects everything the blood cannot evacuate: large molecules, cellular waste, toxins, pathogens, worn-out immune cells. Where blood cannot enter (the spaces between cells, what is known as the interstitial environment), lymph circulates freely. And it circulates precisely inside the fasciae.

The lymphatic capillaries originate in the heart of the fasciae, follow their lines of tension, pass through the lymph nodes and rise towards the thoracic duct to rejoin the bloodstream at the level of the neck. This entire journey takes place inside the fascial network. The quality of one determines the fluidity of the other.

Why these two networks are really one

When a fascia stiffens — through inactivity, stress, dehydration or deficiency — it literally compresses the lymphatic vessels that run through it. The lymph slows down. Waste builds up. That heavy-legs feeling appears. Morning puffiness settles into the face. The skin loses its radiance. And conversely, when the lymph stagnates, it nourishes the fascia less well, which in turn hardens. It is a vicious circle. To break it, you need to act on both at once — and that is precisely what few protocols do.

The great secret of lymph: it has no pump

Here is a physiological truth that medicine knows perfectly well, but that nobody ever tells you clearly: the lymph has no organ to make it circulate.

No lymphatic heart.

No automatic pump.

No independent motor.

Blood has its heart, which beats 100,000 times a day without asking permission. The lymph has only you. If you do not move, if you do not breathe deeply, if you do not think — the lymph stops.

How does the lymph actually circulate?

The lymph moves forward thanks to four external mechanisms, all of which depend on your daily activity:

  • Muscle contraction, which squeezes the lymphatic vessels like a tube of toothpaste — every step, every bend, every movement of the jaw becomes a micro-pump.
  • Diaphragmatic breathing, which creates a suction effect at the level of the thoracic duct: with each deep inhalation, almost a litre of lymph is drawn upwards.
  • Nearby arterial pulsations, which, by contiguity, massage the lymphatic vessels.
  • The non-return valves located inside the lymphatic vessels, which stop the lymph from flowing back down once it has been pushed upwards.

Without any of these conditions met — that is, in the person who sits for eight hours, breathes shallowly and stays mentally frozen — the lymph stagnates. And everything else follows.

Physical movement AND mental activity: the two forgotten pumps

People talk a lot about physical movement to activate the lymph — walking, rebounding, yoga, manual drainage. All of that is right. But almost always half of the equation is missing: mental activity.

Physical movement: your first lymphatic pump

Twenty minutes of brisk walking multiply lymphatic circulation by 10 to 15, according to studies. Rebounding on a trampoline (rebound exercise) is probably the most effective activity, because the vertical motion accelerates and then slows the lymph with each bounce — exactly like a pulsed pump. Yoga, tai chi and qi gong introduce twists that successively press each fascial chain. And conscious diaphragmatic breathing, on its own, acts like a piston.

Mental activity: the unsuspected pump

Here is what few people know: mental and emotional coherence directly influences fascial motility. Fascia contains six times more sensory receptors than muscles. Every blocked emotion, every bout of rumination, every tense thought shows up in the fascia as a permanent micro-contraction. And a contracted fascia means a pinched lymphatic vessel.

Conversely, a state of mental coherence — meditation, conscious breathing, clear intention, energy practice such as Reiki — releases the underlying fascial tone. The lymph can then start to flow again through widened passages. That is exactly the meaning of a holistic approach: you do not deal with an isolated channel, you restore the circulation as a whole. To explore this link between consciousness, energy and living matter, our article Silicon and the Brain: why element no. 14 is your best ally offers a complementary perspective on the role of silicon in neurological coherence.

When stress freezes everything: the revealing case of the buffalo hump

To make this fascia-lymph-stress mechanism tangible, there is a strikingly clear example: the buffalo hump, that visible build-up at the base of the neck that appears in so many people — particularly women after 40, after a pregnancy, or after a prolonged period of emotional hardship. It is the most telling illustration of everything we have just explained.

What the buffalo hump is not (contrary to what you are told)

The first essential message: the buffalo hump is not an ordinary fat deposit. This is the most common misjudgement, and it leads to disastrous solutions. Liposuction, for example, is strictly contraindicated: it destroys the lymphatic channels at the back of the skull and durably aggravates migraines and neck tension. Nor is it a matter of poor posture or head carriage — the hump keeps growing even in people who stand perfectly straight.

The buffalo hump is, in the great majority of cases, a lipohypertrophy of lymphatic origin: a blockage of the nodes at the base of the neck (the cervicodorsal zone, known as C7-T1). The lymph can no longer circulate, waste builds up, the connective tissue becomes swollen with fluids and toxins, the fascia hardens around this stagnation, and a mass forms — visible, palpable, sometimes inflamed. Cushing's syndrome (chronic excess of cortisol) is a separate, documented medical cause, which must always be ruled out by a doctor if the hump develops quickly.

Why chronic stress literally creates the hump

The neck is a zone that is highly charged, both symbolically and physiologically. It is where the tensions of "those who carry" concentrate — professional responsibilities, family burdens, night-time rumination. On a strictly physiological level, chronic stress triggers a recognised cascade:

  • Raised cortisol, which alters tissue distribution and favours storage in the cervicodorsal zone.
  • Permanent contraction of the fascia of the trapezius, scalenes and diaphragm — which strangle the lymphatic vessels in the area.
  • Shallow breathing, which deprives the thoracic duct of its diaphragmatic pumping effect (remember: it is this that draws the lymph upwards).
  • Inactivity and postural tension, which prevent the muscle pump from restarting drainage.

The result is a localised lymphatic stagnation that sets in week after week until it becomes visible. And the bigger the hump grows, the more it erodes self-esteem, the more stress increases, the more cortisol rises. It is a perfectly documented vicious circle.

Why a clay mask alone is not enough for the buffalo hump

We have to be honest on this point: the Terrals, however powerful they are for subcutaneous lymphatic drainage, are not sufficient in the face of an established buffalo hump.

Why?

Because clay works on the surface — on the superficial lymphatic capillaries and the fascia of the dermis. But the buffalo hump is made up of deep knots, located beneath several layers of tissue, around the cervical nerves that control the whole area. To reach these knots, you need to work mechanically with the fingertips — and you need an active that works deeply on the nerves themselves, because they are the primary cause of the blockage.

Amplitude No. 4: softening the nerves that block the fascia and lymph

That is precisely what is done by theAmplitude No. 4 oil from Laboratoire Géomer. It is a calming and soothing formula, designed to act on the neuromuscular cause of the blockage. In periods of chronic stress, the cervical and dorsal nerves are in permanent hypertonia. They contract the surrounding fascia, which in turn strangles the lymphatic vessels. As long as the nerve is not de-stressed, the fascia stays locked, and no surface drainage can undo a knot that re-forms as soon as you release the pressure.

Amplitude No. 4 acts as a mirror: it de-stresses the local nervous system through its synergy of calming essential oils, which allows the nerves to release their tone, the fascia to soften, and the deep knots to be finally worked loose by hand. The gesture is essential: apply the oil to the area of the hump and work with the fingertips, using deep circular pressures, palpate-and-roll, then descending light strokes towards the collarbones to carry away the released lymph. Five to ten minutes a day. Regularity is the key: a knot that has been there for years does not come undone in a single session.

The coherent Géomer sequence for the buffalo hump

Three actions, three levels, that complement each other rather than overlap:

  • Deep level — the nerves and the knots: daily massage withAmplitude No. 4 oil using the fingertips, with deep pressures. This is the central gesture, without which nothing else can work durably.
  • Structural level — the fascia and connective tissue: an internal course of Silicium Organique Forté to give suppleness and quality back to stiffened fascia and restore the supporting tissue.
  • Skin and energy level — the envelope: periodic application of a Terral for additional surface drainage and an energetic harmonisation of the area according to your dominant TCM Element.

For the step-by-step protocol in detail, the massage angles and the testimonials of visible reduction (up to 70 to 90% within a few weeks depending on the case), we refer you to our dedicated article: The buffalo hump: explanation and natural solution.

But above all: listen to what the body is saying

No protocol, however rigorous, works durably if the emotional cause remains unchanged. The buffalo hump is almost always the sign of a mental load that exceeds what the person agrees to set down. As long as the person keeps carrying what is no longer theirs to carry, the body will keep manifesting it. This is where the mental activity we spoke of earlier — meditation, letting go, energy practice — becomes the indispensable fourth leg of the stool. Caring for the neck also means deciding, consciously, what you are still willing to carry. And what you finally set down.

Without silicon, no supplement stands up: the cement metaphor

Let us return to our bricklayer. You now have the two conditions for movement — physical and mental. But they are of no use if the material that has to circulate, and the tissue it circulates in, are poorly built. This is where organic silicon comes in — the element that nobody shows you.

Your food supplements are precious bricks

Magnesium, zinc, vitamins, marine collagen, hyaluronic acid, trace elements… each is essential in its own way. Marine collagen provides the amino acids needed to rebuild fibres. Hyaluronic acid provides the hydration framework. Zinc and magnesium activate hundreds of enzymes. None is useless. But none of them, alone or in combination, can structure a fascia worthy of the name.

But without cement, the wall collapses

Géomer Huile Amplitude N°3

Organic silicon is what researchers call a structural cofactor. It is what creates the cross-links (crosslinks) between collagen fibres. Without these links, the collagen produced remains disorganised, soft, fragile. It is exactly like stacking bricks side by side without ever bonding them: at the first stress, everything collapses. You can swallow ten grams of marine collagen a day for a year: if your body lacks silicon, it will produce collagen of mediocre quality, which will not hold.

Silicon, the biological cement of the extracellular matrix

Our body contains around 7 grams of silicon at birth. By the age of 55, only 4 remain. This loss is gradual, silent, and largely responsible for everything that is lazily attributed to "ageing": skin that sags, hair that thins, joints that crack, fascia that hardens, lymph that stagnates. It is not age in itself — it is the cement evaporating.

Silicon is, moreover, the major component of all connective tissues: the fascia, of course, but also the bones, cartilage, vascular walls, tendons and ligaments. When it is lacking, the whole supporting network falters at the same time — and the lymph no longer has solid banks to flow along.

Géomer Terral Jaune

Why silicon is the prerequisite for collagen

You see promises blossoming around marine collagen, plant collagen, hydrolysed collagen, bioactive peptides. All of this may have some value — but on one condition: that your body has the silicon (the true monomethylsilanetriol) needed to assemble these bricks. Otherwise you are handing your body flour, butter and eggs and asking it to bake a cake… without an oven.

Collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid: a trio that depends on silicon

Three proteins structure your fascia and the extracellular matrix of your whole body:

  • Collagen provides strength and structure. Silicon (the true monomethylsilanetriol) activates its synthesis via an enzyme called prolyl hydroxylase, and spatially organises the fibres.
  • Elastin provides elastic recoil, the tissue's ability to regain its shape. Its production also depends on silicon for the cross-linking of the chains.
  • Hyaluronic acid fills the spaces with a hydrating gel. Its retention in the tissue — and not its rapid washing out — depends on the quality of the fascial mesh, and so, once again, on silicon.

Three elements. One key: silicon. As long as you do not provide the key, the locks stay closed.

MMST: the form of silicon that truly penetrates the fascia

Not all silicon is equal. Mineral silicon (sand, quartz) is not absorbed by the body. Plant silicon (horsetail, nettle) is assimilated at 5-15% at most. To reach the deep fascia and the extracellular matrix, you need a form that is 80% bioavailable: monomethylsilanetriol, or MMST.

MMST was first synthesised in 1957 by Norbert Duffaut, a chemist at the University of Bordeaux, and certified in the lineage by the expert pharmacist Philippe Voisin. It is this same original formula, authorised by European Commission decision of 4 August 2016 (no. 2016/1344), that forms the basis of our Silicium Organique Forté and of our Silicium Organique Vitalis. For the complete chemistry and history of MMST, see the organic silicon pillar guide.

At Laboratoire Géomer, we are the only ones to guarantee 1,200 mg/L stable in a complete holistic TCM range. This documented concentration, stable over time, is what allows MMST to actually penetrate the deep fascia — rather than degrading before it gets there.

Waking up the fasciae-lymph-silicon trio in everyday life

Here is the routine we suggest to anyone who wants to break out of the vicious circle of rigid fascia / stagnant lymph / ineffective cosmetics. Three pillars, simultaneous, non-negotiable.

1. Provide the cement: the Silicium Organique Forté course

The loading protocol consists of 3 doses of 25 ml a day for 30 days, on an empty stomach, in the morning, away from meals. Then maintenance at 25 ml a day continuously. This regularity is non-negotiable: silicon is not stored, it is used as you go to assemble the bricks that you provide by other means. The supplement is taken in water or diluted in an herbal infusion (not in glass — see our dedicated article on this subject).

For the details of the protocol and day-to-day practice, you can refer to our practical guide to fascia and organic silicon.

2. Move the bricks: conscious physical movement

Twenty minutes a day at minimum. Brisk walking, rebounding, yoga, qi gong, swimming — the form does not matter; what counts is continuity and diaphragmatic breathing. The idea is to mechanically activate the lymphatic pump while keeping the fascia mobilised along all its chains. A weekly manual drainage session with a trained practitioner can usefully complement this work.

3. Awaken the energy: mental and emotional activity

Ten minutes of mental coherence a day: guided meditation, box breathing, personal Reiki, written gratitude, attention practice. The aim is not spiritual — it is strictly physiological: to release the underlying fascial tone so that the lymph can circulate through relaxed passages. This is the dimension that conventional cosmetics completely ignore, and it is nevertheless the one that tips the results.

The Géomer Terrals: subcutaneous lymphatic drainage according to the 5 Elements

So far we have talked about the internal supply of silicon — the oral course that brings the cement from the blood to the deep fascia. But there is a second route, complementary and particularly powerful: topical application of silicon-rich clays. And that is precisely what we offer with the Terrals Géomer : a range of five clay masks, one for each Element of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Why clay is a remarkable skin lymphatic drainer

When you apply a clay mask to the skin, several physical phenomena occur simultaneously. Clay captures by adsorption the waste and toxins carried out by the superficial lymphatic capillaries. It creates a slight vasoconstriction followed by vasodilation that energises the microcirculation. As it dries, it exerts a mechanical tension on the skin that mechanically stimulates the subcutaneous lymphatic vessels — a gentle but real pumping effect. And it releases its minerals transcutaneously: silicon, magnesium, iron, trace elements. The result is what beauticians call subcutaneous lymphatic drainage — particularly effective for areas where lymph stagnates at the surface: face, neck, décolleté, belly, thighs.

Silicon in clay: a direct topical supply to the superficial fascia

From a chemical point of view, clays are silicates. Silicon is their major component. When clay is in prolonged contact with hydrated skin, a fraction of this silicon passes into the superficial layers of the dermis — exactly where the superficial fascia and the lymphatic capillaries are located. It is a directly local supply, which perfectly complements the systemic supply of the oral course. The cement arrives by two routes: from the inside via the blood, and from the outside via the skin.

The 5 Terrals Géomer: one mask per TCM Element

Traditional Chinese Medicine associates every season, every organ and every tissue with one of the five Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water. Rather than offering a generic clay mask, Laboratoire Géomer has formulated five Terrals, each aligned with an Element, its associated organ and its tissue concerns. These are cosmetics in the strict sense of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, whose use contributes to the comfort and radiance of the skin.

How to use the Terrals: the practical protocol

Choose the Terral that corresponds to the current season, or to the dominant tissue concern. Apply in a generous layer (3-5 mm thick) to clean, slightly damp skin — face, neck, décolleté, or targeted areas of the body. Leave on for 5 to 7 minutes at most, without letting it dry completely (on the scalp, the leave-on time is 20 minutes): if the clay dries to the point of cracking, it loses its draining effect and begins to pull instead of drain. The secret is to keep it slightly damp by spraying a little floral water if necessary. Rinse with lukewarm water, pat dry.

For an optimal lymphatic drainage effect, allow for 1 to 2 applications a week in a course of 4 to 6 weeks. Combined with the internal course of Silicium Organique Forté, this dual action — internal and topical — offers a remarkable holistic route: the cement arrives through the blood and through the skin, while the Terrals simultaneously activate the drainage of the superficial fascia.

Your questions about silicon, fasciae and lymph

Does organic silicon really help the fascia and lymph?

Silicon is a structural cofactor essential to the synthesis of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid — the three proteins that structure the fascia. A silicon deficiency results in disorganised collagen, rigid fascia and, consequently, slowed lymphatic circulation. Providing organic silicon in the form of MMST helps restore the structural quality of this network.

How long before I feel the first effects?

Feedback from regular users of Silicium Organique Forté generally reports the first sensations from 10 to 15 days on joint suppleness, and after 4 to 6 weeks on skin quality and the feeling of tone. For a lasting structural result on the fascia, allow a minimum of 3 months, ideally 6.

What is the difference between Silicium Forté and Silicium Vitalis?

Both provide MMST at a stable 1,200 mg/L. Silicium Organique Forté is the pure formula, ideal for the loading course and intensive protocols. Silicium Organique Vitalis adds chestnut ellagitannins (anti-free-radical), recommended for maintenance and for antioxidant action directed in particular towards the skin.

Does silicon replace my other supplements?

No, and that is not its role. Silicon is the cement that allows your other supplements — collagen, magnesium, zinc, vitamins — to finally produce their structural effects. It replaces nothing; it makes everything possible. That is why it is described as a cofactor.

When should I take silicon during the day?

In the morning on an empty stomach, away from meals (at least 20 minutes before). This maximises intestinal absorption and avoids interactions with dietary minerals. Keep in a cool place after opening, in its original plastic bottle — never in a glass container.

Should the oral silicon course be combined with the Terrals masks?

Yes, the combination is particularly coherent. The oral course of Silicium Organique Forté or Vitalis provides silicon systemically, reaching the deep fascia progressively via the bloodstream. The Terrals, for their part, act topically: immediate subcutaneous lymphatic drainage and a supply of silicon directly into the superficial fascia. The two routes complement each other without competing. A 3-month oral course combined with 1-2 weekly applications of the Terral corresponding to your season or tissue need is the most complete holistic protocol.

Which Terral should I choose if I'm a beginner?

If you are discovering the Terrals, two approaches are possible. The first is seasonal: Terral Vert in spring, Rouge in summer, Jaune between seasons, Blanc in autumn, Gris in winter. The second is typological: Vert for skin that needs to detoxify, Rouge to wake up the microcirculation, Jaune to remineralise, Blanc for sensitive skin, Gris for structural depth. Our team can guide you through a personalised assessment.

Can the buffalo hump be approached with this fascia-lymph-silicon method?

A buffalo hump not linked to Cushing's syndrome (to be ruled out by your doctor) is almost always a lymphatic blockage of the cervicodorsal zone caused by chronic stress: hypertonic cervical nerves lock the fascia, which in turn strangles the lymphatic vessels. The central gesture is daily manual massage with theAmplitude No. 4 oil using the fingertips, with deep pressures — its calming action relaxes the nerves, which allows the deep knots to come undone. A clay mask alone is insufficient because it acts at the surface, whereas the buffalo hump is a deep blockage. Géomer additionally recommends a course of Silicium Organique Forté, to support the quality of the fascia, and parallel work on the emotional cause is essential. Feedback from women users reports visible reductions within 4 to 8 weeks of regular practice.

And now, you know

You know why your costly supplements do not deliver the promised results. You know why draining massages alone are not enough. You know why yoga without adequate nutrition stalls. And you know what changes the game: fascia and lymph form a single tissue, which circulates thanks to physical and mental movement, and which is built on a single cement — organic silicon.

The wall of your body deserves better than a pile of bricks with no binder. Bring the cement. Keep things flowing. Think in terms of coherence. The rest will follow.

With my full attention,

And above all: take good care of your body. It is where your soul chose to live.
